Personal:

I am a 34 year old male from Chicago, Illinois. I graduated from the University of Colorado in May 2006 and started running in the spring of 2007. Since then I have gone from a max of about 220 pounds to my current weight of roughly 175 lbs, and more importantly have developed a true joy and passion for running.

4th Boston marathon yesterdat. MAJOR struggle. A bit surprising since I felt really good about my training, better than past Boston Marathons in fact. Just wasn't my day I suppose, might have been the heat as well. Apparently reached 79 degrees in the morning. Ran the first half in 1:30:36 - my desired/expected marathon pace - but completely hit the wall in the second half. Felt pretty weak less than 10 miles in, might have psyched myself out a bit too. Eventually just decided I wouldn't worry about my time and just enjoy the experience, but I couldn't enjoy it at all. Total struggle. Ran the last 10K at a 10-11 minute pace. Stopped to throw up right after making the turn onto Boyslton. Luckily I already have my qualifying time for 2018 so will have a chance to redeem myself.
