Personal:

I am a 34 year old male from Chicago, Illinois. I graduated from the University of Colorado in May 2006 and started running in the spring of 2007. Since then I have gone from a max of about 220 pounds to my current weight of roughly 175 lbs, and more importantly have developed a true joy and passion for running.

Sore right ankle following yesterday's long run, although the pain subsided drastically in a 24 hour period. May be attributed to new shoes I started running in last Monday 9/14 and probably still breaking in. (although it's the same Nike Vomero 4 I've always run in). Probably should have rested today but decided to go out for a relaxed 8 mile jog. Started to experience some noticeable pain/discomfort in the last 2 miles. 8 miles in 59:25 for a 7:25/mile pace. Probably going to stay off the ankle with a rest day on Tuesday - don't want to take any chances with the Chicago Marathon approaching in less than 3 weeks.

Andrew,

Your blog caught my eye because my brother is named Andrew, runs, and recently hurt his ankle. So I was checking to see if you were my brother. You're not, so nice to meet you. :) How's the plan to quit smoking going? I ask because I once liked smoking. I'm glad to be a smoke-free runner now. Good luck getting there too!
